New Fad Diets

I read some where that if one diet doesn't fit you should keep trying them until you find one that you like. I figure that maybe we need some new fad diets to try so I came up with some fun ones to try that I think are GUARANTEED to make you eat less. Here they are:

1. Terrible Two Diet: You can eat whatever you want, whenever you want but you must do so while holding a 2 1/2 year old child in your lap.

2. Car Seat Diet: You can eat whatever you find in your children's carseats. Don't worry there is enough food in those things to sustain life.

3. Mystery Diet: You can eat whatever is hiding in the back of your fridge in an unmarked tupperware container. A bit risky, but you never know when you might get lucky.

4. Preschool Dessert Diet: You are only allowed to eat sugar when surrounded by a group of preschoolers. Don't forget to set a good example by sharing. You will never be able to save enough for yourself so all desserts are guilt free =)

5. Vegemite Diet: You are allowed to eat anything you want on this diet as long as you spread it with a 1/8 inch layer of vegemite.

6. Daily Milkshake Diet: You can eat what ever you want on this diet. The only requirement is that you take all your meals/snacks/desserts for that day and blend them all together in a big milkshake and consume through a straw. Imagine your appetite after a few sips of Cocoa puffs/cookies/tuna sandwich and a side salad/hamburger with french fries and onion rings/and some mid-night-ice-cream milkshake. Best of all this diet is very portable, just pour into an empty water bottle and take it with you.

I hope this helps anyone out there who is looking for a new diet to try. If you think of any others please share them. =)

Let Me Introduce Myself

Hello to all those moms out there crazy enough to homeschool. I say, "crazy" because some days it feels like the whole world thinks we are crazy, and some days we feel like we are going crazy, and some days we are just so crazy-in-love with homeschooling that we could just bust! I tend to feel all those things on a daily basis.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Lizzy and I am currently homeschooling in the Seattle, WA area. I hated Seattle when I first moved here because I didn't see any families ANYWHERE. I felt like a freak show walking my three children and my pregnant belly into the grocery store every week just to receive comments and stares. After 3 years here, however, I have come to love all of the resources and diversity that my children get to benefit from on a daily basis. I have found many homeschooling families and a general respect from people I meet for what our family is doing. Sure, I have had negative feedback about homeschooling but the good feedback has FAR outweighed it so I 've managed to shrug off the bad ones.

My hopes for this blog are to not only discuss my crazy way of homeschooling, but to also address the daily issues of family, marriage, money, work, child rearing, depression, love, happiness, ice cream addiction, and all that good stuff that gets into our childrens' educations =).

I also am practicing to be an advice columnist at this site: littlemissknowitall.wordpress.com

As part of this blog I am going to post homeschool related advice questions and answers every Tuesday. If you have any questions for me, just put them in a comment box as anonymous.

Hoping to get to know a lot of you better!
Miss Liz
